Exodus 40

Essentially, Exodus 40 (smaller than Exodus 90) is a discipline focused on fasting, abstinence, humility, and thanksgiving. As young men, many of us find ourselves habitually distracted at points throughout our lives. We take for granted the gifts that God has given us, and we throw them away for lesser things. We presume the time that we have on this Earth, a time in which we should use particularly to grow in virtue. Once the time that God has given us has been thrown away, we begin to find comfort in wasting more time, and we become complacent over the time that we have already wasted. During this season of abstinence, a man should especially focus on getting rid of the distractions in his life in order to detoxify his mind, body, and soul so that he may give thanks to God who created him.
