The Oath

I, [Name], before God, and in the presence of my brothers in faith, do solemnly swear to uphold the virtues and responsibilities of a knight of Christus Dominus Est.

I resolve to remain pure in mind and heart, reflecting the purity of God in all that I do. I understand that my purity is a reflection of His holiness, and I pledge to guard it with all my strength.

I promise to remain humble, controlling my thoughts, words, and actions in accordance with God's will. I will not seek to elevate myself but will acknowledge my place in His greater plan.

I recognize the sacred duty to imitate Christ within my family, knowing that His love and sacrifice are the model for all relationships. I will seek to lead by example, always striving to reflect His mercy and grace in my home.

I offer up my sacrifices in silence, willingly putting the needs of those I love before my own. I will give all that I have, using every bit of my strength to serve those in need without seeking recognition or reward.

I take responsibility for my actions, understanding my imperfections, yet striving always to grow in Christ’s likeness. I accept that I am imperfect, and will seek to better reflect His perfect example in all that I do.

I place God above all else in my life, dedicating myself to His service. When the time comes, I will be willing to lay down my life for Christ, just as He has given His life for me.

And finally, I will forgive others, just as Christ has forgiven me. I will show mercy, understanding that forgiveness is the path to peace.

I embrace these sacred virtues as a guide for my life, ever striving to live according to the Seven Virtues of St. Joseph:

  • Humility: To understand who I am in the eyes of God.

  • Fortitude: To remain steadfast in difficulties and constant in the pursuit of the good.

  • Charity: To see others through the eyes of God, loving them as He loves me.

  • Diligence: To show constant effort in accomplishing my duties, regardless of the challenges.

  • Chastity: To remain pure in mind and heart, guarding my soul from impurity.

  • Temperance: To moderate my desires, finding balance in the use of all created goods.

  • Patience/Mercy: To show compassion and mercy for those suffering, and to act with a willing heart to alleviate their burdens.

With God as my witness, I pledge this oath with all my heart, committing to walk in His light and live as a true knight of Christus Dominus Est. Amen.
